SENIOR MECHANICAL/PROCESS ENGINEER – ATLANTA, GA
Prime Engineering, Inc. is currently accepting resumes from qualified project engineers with previous consulting experience to work in our Industrial Market Segment. Individuals will perform and manage efforts during the planning, design, permitting, and construction administration phases for a variety of technically challenging projects. Industrial Market Segment client base includes petroleum & chemical, food & beverage, process and manufacturing, and aviation facilities.
                                           
Specific desired project experience includes: Bulk petroleum/chemical receipt, storage, and loading systems; industrial liquid and gas storage, pumping, and piping systems; process chemical plant systems; heat exchangers; and industrial drainage systems.

Experience with HVAC/plumbing, waste treatment systems, or industrial automation/control systems is a plus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):

  • Managing the development of multi-disciplinary industrial projects
  • Technical support of in-house sales staff
  • Proposal writing support of in-house marketing communications and sales staff
  • Preparing construction documents
  • Preparing studies and design reports
  • Preparing technical calculations (e.g., hydraulic analysis, pipe stress analysis, thermal expansion calculations, etc.)
  • Preparing plans, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Performing site investigations and construction administration
  • Identifying and managing client deliverables and expectations

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years’ related experience in:
    • Bulk petroleum/chemical receipt, storage, and loading systems
    • Industrial liquid and gas storage, pumping, and piping systems
    • Process chemical plant systems
    • Heat  exchangers
    • Industrial drainage systems
    • Consulting engineering services
  • Demonstrated success in a variety of technically challenging projects – planning, design, permitting, and construction administration
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • Ability to travel as much as 25% of time
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and AutoCAD required
  • Experience with HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems or industrial automation/control systems is a plus

CIVIL/TRANSPORTATION PROJECT ENGINEER – TAMPA, FL
Prime Engineering, Inc. is currently accepting resumes from project engineers with previous consulting experience to work in our Transportation Market Segment’s Tampa, FL office. This Market Segment specializes in providing solutions for aviation, railroad, and commercial clients. The project engineer will be involved during all project phases including: planning, design, permitting, and construction administration. Must have excellent communication skills and commitment to deadlines.  Must be dependable, responsible, flexible, resourceful, and communicate with a high level of professionalism with clients, subconsultants, and office staff.  Project experience will be gained with the following:  pavement design and rehabilitation; site grading and drainage; hydraulics; utilities; water quality; water and sewer; roads; stormwater; permitting; and surveying.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):

  • Preparation of design documents, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Detailed design engineering
  • Preparation of studies and reports
  • Site investigations and construction administration
  • Permitting and coordination with federal, state, and local municipalities
  • Identification and management of client deliverables and expectations.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4-6 years’ experience
  • Education: Bachelor of Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Registration: EIT required. PE licensure preferred; otherwise, must be able to obtain PE license within one year.   
  • Equipment/Software: Proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D.

SURVEY CREW CHIEF – ATLANTA, GA
Candidates should have a working knowledge of field survey methods, materials, instruments, equipment and procedures; basic construction safety practices; and codes and ordinances, rules and regulations affecting field survey operations. 

Must possess the ability and willingness to perform survey duties over difficult terrain and adverse weather conditions, as the job warrants.  Requires the ability to perform field work involving exertion of a moderate amount of physical effort and to work around traffic and construction sites in a safe manner.

This position requires the use of a cellular telephone to conduct company business.  Must sign and comply with Prime Engineering, Inc.'s Cellular Telephone Policy. Must be able to pass security screening for working on airport and other Federal projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
  • Researches property records.
  • Performs and checks calculations and keeps field notes and records.
  • Ensures that the survey crew observes departmental safety rules and regulations.
  • Makes detailed sketches to aid drafting personnel in preparation of plans and drawings.
  • Conducts land surveys to determine right-of-way lines, boundary lines, location of easements and encroachments.
  • Responsible for establishing points, lines and distance for topographic, property, and construction field surveys, as well as construction layout.
  • Provides assistance to survey technicians and design engineers in determining detail of grades and geometrics on street, sewer, and other construction projects.
  • Reduction of field data including line work.

Qualifications

  • Experience: 3-5 years’ experience
  • Registration: Certification as a Licensed Surveyor in Training (LSIT) is desired. Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.   
  • Equipment/Software: Responsible for initiating orders for surveying equipment and supplies and for overseeing the adjustment and maintenance of surveying equipment, supplies, meters, gauges, and distance meters.  Responsible for maintenance of assigned vehicle.  Experience with Trimble Robotic & GPS equipment is a plus.

CIVIL/MUNICIPAL PROJECT ENGINEER/PROJECT MANAGER – ATLANTA, GA
The preferred candidate will have consulting experience with industrial and commercial design projects as well as experience with municipal projects including water mains, transmission lines, sewer lines, and pump stations. The preferred candidate should have experience with the following: hydrology/hydraulics, grading, utilities, detention/water quality, water and sewer, roads, stormwater, permitting, MS Office, AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
                                   
Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited curriculum
  • Registration: Registered Professional Engineer 
  • Experience: 5-10+ years’ with previous experience managing project scope, schedule, and budgets is required.  Candidate must have experience managing project teams and preparing reports for design and construction of engineering projects.
