Prime Engineering, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our engineering services in our Industrial Market Segment. You will contribute to our rapid growth by learning and applying inter-disciplinary engineering skills in a diverse project environment.  You must possess strong experience designing for petroleum & chemical and process & manufacturing facilities in a consulting environment.

The Industrial Market Segment specializes in petroleum & chemical, food & beverage, process & manufacturing, and fueling support for aviation facilities.  Work elements include liquid and gas storage; pumping and piping systems; heat exchangers; drainage systems; and bulk petroleum/chemical receipt, storage, and loading systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):
  • Managing the development of multi-disciplinary industrial projects
  • Technical review and support of in-house sales staff
  • Proposal writing support of in-house marketing communications and sales staff
  • Preparing plans, specifications, cost estimates and construction documents
  • Preparing studies and design reports
  • Preparing technical calculations (e.g., hydraulic analysis, pipe stress analysis, thermal expansion calculations, etc.)
  • Identifying and managing client deliverables and expectations
  • Design technical review of industrial projects

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ related experience in: Bulk petroleum/chemical receipt, storage, and loading systems, Industrial liquid and gas storage, pumping, and piping systems, Process chemical plant systems, heat exchangers, industrial drainage systems
  • Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Professional Engineering license required
  • Strong technical and design skills as well as verbal and written communication skills

SITE INSPECTOR – ATLANTA, GA
We are currently seeking a Site Inspector in our Infrastructure Market Segment, which specializes in providing solutions for residential, commercial, and municipal clients. The Site Inspector will be responsible for inspecting businesses, buildings, and infrastructure such as highways and bridges, homes, dams, and sewer systems. Must also be able to examine structures to ensure structures have been built in compliance with building codes and ordinances.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including but not limited to the following):

  • Inspect structures to ensure they are up to code and comply with ordinances
  • Point out violations
  • Ensure repairs or alterations are performed correctly
  • Visit site during first phase of construction to make initial inspection
  • Follow up with additional inspections during each phase
  • Take careful notes on what is being erected
  • Conform building complies with ICC codes
  • Monitor compliance with additional safety regulations in areas vulnerable to natural disasters or bad weather
  • Inspect structural quality and safety of building, taking into account steel and reinforced concrete structures
  • Examine plans to ensure structure complies with building codes
  • Inspect condition of the soil, depth of footings, and the pouring of foundation
  • Make final visit and green-light building for occupancy or make list of alterations
  • Examine building for fire safety
  • Inspect electrical systems and equipment
  • Examine sound and security systems, wiring, lighting, and generators
  • Inspect wiring for air conditioning and heating systems and appliances
